Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) announced on August 30 that Godzilla Minus One, Takashi Yamazaki’s new film in the Godzilla franchise will close out this year’s festival. The film festival will take place from October 23 to November 1.
The film will open in Japan on November 3, 2023 (“Godzilla Day”), which commemorates the nationwide release of the original Godzilla film on November 3, 1954 in Japan. The film will open in US theaters on December 1.

TOHO’s latest Japanese live-action installment in its long-running and iconic franchise is Hideaki Anno’s Shin Godzilla, which opened in Japan in 2016 and grossed 8.2 billion yen (75.6 billion yen). million dollars).
