Sanrio has teamed up with Ground Up to produce new Hello Kitty kids' sneakers, which come with a collector's box and are said to be perfect for back-to-school.
Ground Up International announced its first collaboration with Sanrio’s iconic Hello Kitty via a press release for new sneakers available exclusively at Kids Foot Locker. The Hello Kitty Toddler ($60) and Preschool ($65) sneakers feature a red, pink, and white color scheme reminiscent of her signature colors and icons like her face and bow. These low-top sneakers feature red-and-white laces and stripes with a pink glitter finish on the upper. See images and more information below.
The sneakers, which can be purchased from the official Kids Foot Locker website, are billed as perfect for back-to-school. The press release adds for the preschool version, “The addition of a shimmery white PU Velcro Lurex pocket and a pearl pink PU finish add a quirky touch that is sure to appeal to young fans and parents alike.” Both shoes come in a collectible box that “reflects the charm of the shoe, featuring fun facts like Hello Kitty’s height (five apples tall) and weight (three apples). The box even features a cutout of Hello Kitty’s face so you can get an adorable preview of the shoe inside.”
These new sneakers follow a number of Hello Kitty shoe launches this year, including a large shoe collection with Adidas for Stan Smiths, Superstars, new Sambaes, and more, multiple Hello Kitty Cloaks with Crocs, and most recently a collaboration with pop artist Katy Petty for new sneakers and heels. Perry is a longtime fan of the famous kitty mascot; these shoes will be shipped to more than 20 countries worldwide.
