Fly Me to Saitama’s live-action film sequel reveals 4 more actors

Flag Pictures has revealed four more actors in the third character video for Tonde Saitama ~Biwako Yori Ai o Komete~ (Fly Me to Saitama: From Lake Biwa With Love, an obvious homage to the novel and James Bond film From Russia with Love) live-action sequel on Thursday.

The previously announced cast includes:

Gackt and Fumi Nikaidō return from the first film as Rei Asami and Momomi Dannoura respectively. Ryō Katō, Tsubasa Masuwaka, Maju Ozawa, and Shoko Nakahara will also return in the film as Nobuo Shimokawa, Oko, Sazae, and Awabi, respectively.

The sequel will premiere in Japan on November 23, the film has been delayed from its original release schedule last year. In search of greater freedom and peace, the group heads to the Kansai region to the west, where an incident between east and west will spark a fierce battle.

The first Tonde Saitama (Fly Me to Saitama) film premiered in Japan in February 2019. The film sold 191,000 tickets for 259,038,800 yen (about US$2.33 million) in its first week. premiered and topped the Japanese box office.

Maya originally launched the one-volume manga in Hakusensha’s Hana in Yume magazine in 1982. Takarajimasha published a new compilation version of the manga in 2015 titled Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Tonde Saitama manga. The manga has more than 660,000 copies in print. Maya also made Patalliro! The comedy manga has inspired several anime projects.
