What happened in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode #6?
Episode #6 introduces Ignia, the fire dragon god.
After a fun little comedy segment, episode #6 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest returns viewers to the main battle against Mercphobia, where Natsu continues to struggle as the Water Dragon God suppresses all of his attacks. At that moment, Natsu is sucked into the sky by a whirlpool and appears to be held by a giant red dragon resembling Igneel.
The red fire-breathing dragon mocks Natsu for not being able to subdue Mercphobia and attacks the town of Ermina, engulfing it in flames. The dragon then reveals itself to be Ignia, Igneel's biological son, and reveals his desire to duel Natsu when he is strong enough. Ignia explains that he and many other dragons fled from Acnologia 400 years ago and that the five who survived became dragons known as the dragon gods.
Eventually, they became stronger than Acnologia and Ignia explained that he wanted to defeat Acnologia himself to test his strength. However, he heard that Natsu had defeated Acnologia and thus came to Ermina out of curiosity, but was disappointed by Natsu's weakness. As a result, Ignia challenged Natsu to a future battle and told him to become stronger until then, urging him to eat his flames and use them to defeat Mercphobia, after which he left.
Although initially reluctant, Natsu ingests Ignia's flames and awakens a new form of Dragon Force, defeating Mercphobia with the aid of his remaining friends. However, Lucy is forced to stop Natsu from completely killing Mercphobia when he loses his mind and goes into a blind rage. Luckily, a hug from Lucy is all it takes to calm Natsu down, who promptly collapses at the end of the episode.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode #7 will begin the next leg of the quest.
With the great battle against Mercphobia finally over and the threat dealt with, episode #7 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest will likely see Natsu and the rest of the gang embark on the next leg of their journey on Guiltina. The upcoming episode will likely delve into the aftermath of the battle, specifically the damage done to the town of Ermina and how the battle will affect Mercphobia itself.
Volume #7 may also reveal more about the other Dragon Gods that Natsu and his friends are planning to seal as part of their 100-year quest. The Water Dragon's rebellion in previous volumes helped establish the Dragon God's true power, and with Ignia's appearance, the overarching plot of the story immediately becomes much more intriguing. Right now, it seems like Ignia could just be the final boss of the series, especially given his personal connection to Igneel and Natsu.
Additionally, episode #7 may also finally return to the White Mage and the Fairy Tail guild wizards in Ishgar, who have not appeared since episode #5 of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. With the White Mage still roaming free, the Fairy Tail guild and all its members are still in grave danger and hopefully their fate will be revealed soon in the upcoming episodes of Fairy Tail: 100 Year Adventure.
Don't miss episode #7 of Fairy Tail: 100 Year Adventure when released on August 18, 2024!
