Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest 18
フェアリーテイル 100年クエスト
Summary/SPOILER Summary:
Natsu surprises the Seed god Aldoron by landing a blow on him. Outside, the giant Gajeel is attacking the Dragon God Aldoron. Brandish warns that at that size, Gajeel only has three minutes to defeat the wood dragon god. God Seed Aldoron caused a large number of large sword-like pieces to appear and rain down on him. At the same time, the Dragon god Aldoron did the same thing, causing the various Fairy Tail groups to flee and get injured.
Time is running out for Gajeel as Dragon Aldoron fires a large bullet. It missed you and asked you to shrink it. However, when it lands, it causes a huge explosion. Then the Dragon Aldoron lowered his head and hurled more spears at him. Inside the dragon, Seed Aldoron pierced Naruto multiple times. God Seed turned to leave, but Naruto discovered what he had to do to burn Aldoron's wood.
Seed Aldoron scoffs at a human doing this, but is surprised to discover Igneel's fire within Naruto. He angers Naruto by declaring his contempt for all humans. During Naruto's counterattack, Seed Aldoron discovered the flames of the fire dragon Atlas and Ignia with Igneel's flames. In the end, Naruto defeated the Seed god Aldoron, thereby killing the main body.
At Diabolos, the guild master was unhappy with the results with Aldoron. He reinforces Skullion's team with Scarlet Dragon Suzaku. Meanwhile, all of Fairy Tail flees from Drasil to the town of Dramil. After the explanations about the White Mage are given, Fairy Tail parties. Outside, Jellal is contemplating things and Erza joins him, ending with a hug.
Thoughts/Review:
OH! We had another little romantic move in Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest 18. I had to check the manga to see if it was canon. That's right!
Battle of Aldoron
As expected, Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest 18 showed us Gajeel in giant form. Since Naruto had to become a hero, the story was written to only give him three minutes in his giant form. But the explanation for Brandish's limitation seems reasonable. I just wish I remembered everything she did when the previous Fairy Tail fought her.
It's convenient for the plot that no one in Fairy Tail dies from raining large wooden shrapnel. Yes, occasionally someone gets scratched, and then everyone has way too many bandages and wraps. However, I feel that the Fairy Tail members should have taken cover when they ran away, instead of trusting in blind luck. Furthermore, I think people should have been injured more to make it feel more realistic.
Regarding Naruto's battle with Seed Aldoron, we get the cliché nakama power speech. The only thing that surprised me about this fight was the fact that Naruto was stabbed multiple times by large pieces of wood. However, after Natsu failed to burn the firewood, the battle continued as expected. I can't say the fight bored me though, though how did Natsu survive such horrible injuries?
Finally, I checked the manga and there are some slight differences at the end of the story. In the manga, it seems that Fairy Tail had to overcome a military force to check the chaos with the dragon. In the anime, they just ran away before the army got there. I agree with that change.
Final thoughts and conclusion
Let me summarize my review Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest 18 with some final thoughts.
I should have guessed that mysterious woman was a dragon. As she observed Aldoron's death, her shadow took the form of a dragon. Diabolos Master then called her the Moon god Selene. So I guess that's the next dragon god on the menu. A really cool touch was when Juvia did her normal “Gray-sama” routine, Gray pulled her close. I laughed at the shocked faces of some of the Fairy Tail members. Man, I want Juvia to somehow participate in this 100 Year Quest. There is precedent for her being on Naruto's Team. Also, I liked the feeling of Jellal hugging Erza after their talk. I can't specifically remember if this has ever happened before. Without specifying how, the episode confirms that Touka is not from Extalia, the world that Happy and Charle (Carla) come from.
Final, Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest 18 is an entertaining episode. Get on the next dragon.
