Warning! This article contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Super chapter 97Present Super Dragon Ball The manga, Goten and Trunks has an entire story arc that serves as a prequel to Super Hero. This controversial direction left many fans confused and disappointed, as they didn’t see the point in Goten and Trunks’ low-stakes, earthy story. However, in the latest chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga, Goten and Trunks’ prequel arc is finally proven as the two young Saiyans are given the chance to shine that they didn’t get in the Dragon Ball Super: Super movie. Hero.
Dragon Ball Super chapter #88 by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou marked the beginning of a brand new story that fans haven’t seen since the days of the classic Dragon Ball series. The previous story saw Goku and Vegeta unlock and use Ultra Instinct and Super Ego respectively, and it also introduced the incredibly powerful Black Frieza transformation. However, instead of moving forward from there, Super decides to take a step back and follow Trunks and Goten as they fight low-level villains the superhero duo Saiyaman X-1 and Saiyaman X- 2. This plot leads directly into the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, but it doesn’t seem to have much of an impact. Sure, fans already know some background information about Dr. Hedo, but the whole thing about Trunks and Goten becoming superheroes just feels random and disjointed. However, in Super’s latest chapter, the importance of this arc becomes clearer.
Gamma 1 & 2 of Dragon Ball Super are inspired by Trunks & Goten
In Dragon Ball Super chapter #97 by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou, Goten and Trunks attack Cell Max just like they did in Super Hero, only in the manga version, they do it as the superhero Saiyaman X-1 and X-2 – complete with costumes, silly poses and new attacks shown off in the ‘prequel’, done in great crossover with Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. When seeing the two This action hero, Android Gamma 1 and 2 commented on the Saiyamen, especially their outfits. They say these are the heroes that Dr. Hedo based their own designs on, and fans know they’re right considering Trunks and Goten’s connection to Dr. Hedo from the previous season.
The superhero personas of Trunks and Goten not only played a role in the battle between the Z-Fighters and Cell Max (this alone makes their introduction important), but they were also directly responsible for Continue on the appearance and attitude of Gamma 1 and 2. Dr. Hedo has been obsessed with superheroes since fans were introduced to him, but the movie shows that his true frame of reference when creating his own superheroes for the Avengers Red Ribbon is a fictional character in the Clean God universe. However, since Dr. Hedo fought the Saiyamen in the Trunks and Goten prequels, he was able to see the two awesome superheroes in action firsthand, and he decided to use almost every aspects of their characters to craft their Androids.
More importantly, this allows Goten and Trunks to shine, if only briefly, in the battle against Cell Max, whereas in the movie they mostly just serve as comic relief. From fighting against an apocalyptic threat as a superhero to being the inspiration behind two of the strongest Androids in the entire franchise, this latest chapter of Super Dragon Ball ultimately justified its Goten and Trunks, despite fan criticism, a prequel by giving it a greater impact on the larger plot.
