There are many good fathers in Dr. Stone. I mean most shows don’t really feature parents but in Dr. Stone, whenever you see someone’s dad, they’re awesome. However, I think they did Siyuz’s mother dirty. From the show, you’d think she was an absent parent or part of the furniture. She was the one who brought the Soyuz to safety, right? She should also buy a statue.
Oh, wouldn’t it be funny if they came across a real statue? Like someone who isn’t a petrified person. I guess these civilizations might be a little too primitive to have enough tools to make a very realistic statue but I’d love to see that. Senku drives itself crazy because it cannot be revived.
There’s something that a lot of shounen shows do. In fact, a lot of action shows generally do this. Every season the bad guys have to face the previous villains. And like even if it’s technically the same bad guy, somehow they just get stronger and stronger. And I get it, you want to feel like there are real stakes. There’s no point in creating an obstacle that the audience already knows won’t be able to stop the heroes, but that can get out of hand quite easily.
Tsukasa is almost a Superman already. However, I should mention that what makes this character so much scarier and more interesting is that he is a thinker who is honestly working to create what he believes will be a The world is better and quite intelligent. Not just pure physical strength. And he’s not completely beaten up. It is not clear that Senku and the villagers would have succeeded if Tsukasa had not ended up becoming a noble man.
When Hyoga followed him as a villain, he had big shoes to fill and I think they did a pretty good job. Hyoga is a much simpler bad guy. He is both an elitist and a Darwinist who wants to selectively create a new society where he is at the top. But he has a bit of nuance. For example, respect for people who do their jobs well is an interesting trait. And Hyoga is almost as strong as Tsukasa, which, like I said, is far beyond any normal man.
But Moz…
It would be one thing if Moz won what was then a long and arduous battle but essentially defeated him in one blow!?! That man is a tank! I vaguely remember Hyoga having some strange restriction when fighting but I have to admit, I don’t remember the exact details about it. In any case, this seems too easy. So easy, in fact, that I began to wonder if Hyoga was pretending. Maybe it’s a way to get away from Senku and the science team. I’m not sure.
On another note, I mentioned last week that I wasn’t sure what effect showing the islanders the statue of Thay would have. I’ve got a whole paragraph about it. I was really thinking too much about that particular topic. and of course, I had never even considered the most obvious explanation that perhaps the Teacher had a lot of goodwill from the days before the statue. Of course. However, I still stand by my previous statements. I have to imagine that there will only be a handful of people affected but hey, they only need one when absolutely necessary.
One very interesting thing we learned is that at some point, Soyuz’s father had control of the Medusa device. So it has been on the island for a while but how did it get there. If this was the crash site and the astronauts didn’t have it, who did? Also, it’s a lot smaller than I thought. I think it will grow with use but I still think it is the size of a fist. I wonder what Senku and his gang will do with it now…
