Crunchyroll has responded to recent allegations regarding fan mail sent to British voice actor David Wald.
In a statement sent to ANN, a Crunchyroll spokesperson assured that the company is actively investigating the matter.
They also emphasized that fan interaction with voice talent is vital to the anime's success and emphasized their commitment to maintaining the privacy of all actors involved.
“Anime fans have a special connection with voice talent, and that expression of emotion is important in driving more love for anime content. We are currently investigating an issue regarding allegations of fan mail sent to a voice actor not being delivered. We respect the privacy of all of our voice actors and do not knowingly open mail or packages not intended for Crunchyroll. All fan mail must be sent directly to the talent and their management.“
This statement comes after David Wald met with X on October 26 to share his concerns that fan letters sent to him over the past five years had been opened, discarded and were even distributed to Crunchyroll employees without his consent.
Wald has voiced prominent characters in several anime series, such as Golgo 13 in Golgo 13Gajeel Redfox in Fairy TailHannes in Attack on TitanBulat in Akame ga Kill! and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu in My Hero AcadeKaren >.
