The John Wick franchise focuses on a retired assassin, played by Keanu Reeves, grieving his deceased wife. He is forced to return to the world of crime after a thug steals his car and kills his beloved dog. He goes on a relentless killing spree, taking on other dangerous assassins before confronting a formidable crime boss in a decisive battle. There have been a total of four films in the franchise and the latest installment, John Wick: Chapter 4, was released in early March this year. A sequel is in development – it was originally set to release alongside the fourth installment but was eventually pushed back.
Earlier this year, another fan-favorite series, Suicide Squad, also announced that it would be getting an animated project. WIT Studio and Warner Bros. Japan is producing anime.
