Well, it’s only been about six months since our last new episode, and while it’s not the most exciting one, it’s still a pretty good one to help get us back into the story. Simply put, this episode consists of 22 minutes of presentation, where Anos and his friends do practically nothing related to the story. Oh sure, Zeshia is looking for the missing page book, and Misha and Ray follow Shin and Reno on their date. But no one interfered with what was going on, even when Eldmed, possessed by Nosgalia, attacked Reno and Shin.
More than anything else, this episode aims to help us connect the dots between the mysterious Gods’ secret plan and the creation of Misa. It details what happened to Shin and Reno after Anos’ sacrifice. It’s your typical unlikely love story — though not quite for the reason you’d expect. It turned out that Shin was not a demon but a demon sword. Although he has a soul, he is incapable of love. Of course, Reno wants to prove it wrong, since she’s had a crush on him for a while. It’s a cute little love story but nothing to write home about.
Other than that, there aren’t too many surprises here—most of what happens is what you’d reasonably expect. Nosgalia/Eldmed laid the groundwork for creating enemies capable of killing Anos while Anos and the others set up their steady time loop—you know, so things would work out as we’ve seen. and finally bring them back to the past.
That said, we learn some interesting things along the way—like what happens to souls that go against their legends. Although souls have a defining legend about them, that doesn’t mean they don’t have free will. So even though it’s against their nature to be self-destructive, they can still make that choice. This implies that Misa can do the same thing. For now, she seems to be more or less on autopilot as Avos, but if the old one is awakened, she’ll at least be able to choose whether she wants to live like Avos or die like Misa. .
All in all, there’s not much to say about this episode: it’s a lengthy trove of information. However, after half a year, going back to things is not a bad way.

Random thoughts:
The missing page of the book must have been lost in the present as Anos and friends would have retrieved it in the past. Stable time loop is like that.
→ Huh. So Reno directly spawns some souls, and others just appear spontaneously.
I love scene tagging games. It shows that Reno is smarter than she shows. If Shin didn’t realize this trick, she would get a wish from him. If he does then at least she makes him touch her.
I’m disappointed that Misha and Lay don’t talk more during their quest. They are rarely paired together and this is a great opportunity for personality development between them.
