Bungo Stray Dogs is based on a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. Young Ace published the series in December 2012, followed by more popular manga and novels. An animated series was produced by Studio Bones in 2016 and continued for a total of 5 seasons. The anime, including the spin-off and movie, is streaming on Crunchyroll. Yen Press publishes the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Having been kicked out of an orphanage, a desperate young man named Atsushi Nakajima rescues a strange man from suicidal thoughts – Osamu Dazai. It turns out Dazai is a member of a detective agency staffed by individuals with supernatural powers with literary leanings!
