Dark Horse Manga has announced the upcoming release of Volume 1 of Gunsmith Cats Omnibus and is now open for pre-orders. The manga will be released in bookstores on February 4, 2025 and in comic shops on February 5, 2025.
The new edition of the gun-toting girls adventure manga features translations by Dana Lewis and Toren Smith, with additional text and editing done by Studio Cutie. It will be released as a 596-page paperback magazine edition.

Gunsmith Cats was written and illustrated by Kenichi Sonoda and was serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine from February 1991 to June 1997. A total of eight tankobon volumes were released during its publication period.
A sequel titled Gunsmith Cats Burst was serialized in the same magazine from September 2004 to October 2008, with a total of five tankōbon volumes released. Dark Horse Comics released the sequel series in English for North America from 2007 to 2010.
The manga also inspired a three-episode OVA series from OLM from 1995 to 1996. ADV Films first licensed the series for release in English in 1996. The rights were later transferred to AnimEigo, who launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce a new Blu-ray release in 2017.
Dark Horse Manga describes the summary of Gunsmith Cats as:
Rally Vincent runs Gunsmith Cats—a gun shop in Illinois—with her partner, demolitions expert and former call girl Minnie-May Hopkins. But Rally’s “real” job doesn’t pay the bills; it does her hobby. Her hobby is bounty hunting: bringing the Chicago area’s most wanted men and women to justice—wearing a suit and tie and driving a Shelby Cobra GT 500!
But Rally and Minnie-May have their own reasons. The job is theirs in Gunsmith Cats Omnibus Volume 1, as corrupt lawmen and cops, crazed assassins and crazed cocaine lords take helicopters, big rigs and even anti-tank guns to the streets and freeways of Chicagoland in a windshield-splitting whirlwind of stunts, car chases and gunfights!
