The main characters engage in a war that they had previously ignored, but their actions surprisingly help end the conflict completely. The possibility of two different wars in different worlds makes the series more complex and shows why it is one of Crunchyroll’s most complex isekai.
Warning: SPOILERS episode #4 of Sasaki and Peeps
Newly complicated isekai ABOVE Crunchyroll call Sasaki and Peeps just tricked fans into guessing about the recently established roles of the fantasy world and the modern world between which the two eponymous protagonists move freely. These portrayals upended the usual isekai conventions before the latest episode revealed this to be a huge red herring.
In episode #4 of Sasaki and Peeps, the main characters suddenly involved in an ongoing war that both had previously largely ignored, even as they were providing needed goods to their armies. Not only did they destroy the enemy garrison in episode #4, but they were then ambushed by normal and super-powered opponents, which could easily lead to more conflicts in upcoming episodes.
However, by the end of this latest installment, it is confirmed that Sasaki and Peeps’ contributions to the war effort helped end the conflict completely, rendering it all in vain. Furthermore, a separate storyline involving a young noble girl believed to be orphaned by the war soon ends due to the actions of Sasaki and Peeps.
Sasaki and Peeps restores its own overthrown game
Produced by Silver Link, based on the light novel series by Buncololi and Kantoku
Sasaki and Peeps initially stood out from the competition When the fantasy world that Sasaki was initially interested in becomes a place for him to trade modern items from his world for money and free meals at a new friend’s restaurant. Of course, he and Peeps hope to pursue this lifestyle in the modern world as well, except they are suddenly pulled into a secret war between a shadowy government agency and the crooks known as the House. psychic.
This is unprecedented, as similar series often fit the stereotype of the dual isekai. Use the fantasy world for adventure and the modern world for normal daily activities. The prospect of Sasaki and Peeps going to war in a fantasy world will certainly become more common, especially since they initially tried to keep themselves out of the picture, which is common in many isekai. Of course, this is more complicated still: since Sasaki and Peeps are already violent criminals in the modern world, they would essentially be fighting two wars at once.
Sasaki and Peeps could escalate into a full on fantasy war
The mere introduction of two wars is a major development for obvious reasons. So much of the events of episode #4 end up being a giant red herring that essentially has more implications associated with it than just reinstating one of the biggest isekai conventions that the series demolished. However, there is still a possibility that suddenly interrupted fantasies can flare up again.
Although many characters say this war is over, the battle between Peeps and his super-powered enemy shows the possibility that there may be more powerful enemies. If so, the war has not really ended. If right, Sasaki and Peeps could very well become a series with two different wars taking place in two different worlds, and that would certainly help establish that this is one of the Crunchyrollmost complicated isekai.
