Crunchyroll begins streaming the film in North America on November 8
Crunchyroll began streaming a clip from Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom (Gekijō-ban Overlord Sei Ōkoku-hen), the new film project for the Overlord anime, on Friday.

Crunchyroll began streaming the series in North America on Friday and will also stream it in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
The film ranked 2nd in its first week of release. It sold 198,000 tickets and earned 317,859,004 yen (about $2.19 million). The film opened regularly in Japan on September 20, but also had IMAX screenings starting a week earlier on September 13. Including previous IMAX screenings, the film sold a total of 270,000 tickets and collected a total of 457 million tickets. Yen (about 3.15 million USD) opens September 20-22.
the film dropped out of the top 10 at the Japanese box office in its fourth weekend. The film has earned a total of 910,185,100 yen (about US$6.09 million) as of October 6.
Kadokawa describes the film's story:
Under the leadership of the Sacred Queen Calca, Roebel the Sacred Kingdom enjoys an era of peace, protected behind their great walls. However, that peace was easily destroyed by the sudden appearance of Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and the attack of the Demi-Human Alliance. Although the leader of the Sacred Paladin Order of the Roebel Sacred Kingdom, Remedios, and the high priestess Kelart, gathered forces to retaliate, they were unable to overcome the huge difference in power between Jaldabaoth and his kingdom. they are currently on the brink of collapse. Remedios traveled with her command and her subordinate, Neia, to a certain kingdom in hopes of gaining strength to fight Jaldabaoth. The name of that kingdom is Sorcerer Kingdom Ains Ooal Gown. It was a grotesque country ruled by the undead and despised by the Holy Kingdom—
The film's four new actors include:
Naoyuki Itou will return to direct the film at Madhouse, and is also credited as a scriptwriter and composer. Yukie SUGAwara will return to the film and is credited as a co-writer. Satoshi Tasaki will also return as character designer and animation director. Fumiyuki Go will return as sound director at Bit Grooove Promotion. Team-MAX's Shūji Katayama will return to composing music at Kadokawa. Kadokawa Animation will distribute the film.
The film project was first announced during a 2021 live special broadcast for the anime.
