David Wald claims the company opened his private mail, threw it away, and gave the contents to employees
A Crunchyroll spokesperson told ANN on Saturday that they are investigating the situation after voice actor and ADR director David Wald stated on X/Twitter on Friday that the company “opened his private correspondence.” [anh ấy]throw away [các] letter and forward any enclosed items to a member of staff [của anh ấy].”
Wald said on the goods he said were sent to him which Crunchyroll allegedly “opened and distributed to employees.” He said he discovered the incident the day before because the package sender provided him with photos of the contents as well as United States Postal Service (USPS) tracking information.
He said some of the items were returned to him after they were “found on the company gift table.” Wald added that he believes the employees were not at fault, because “They were just passing by.” came across the company free gift table and thought something looked cool.”

Anime fans have a special connection with voice talent, and that emotional expression is important in promoting more love for anime content. We are currently investigating an issue regarding allegations of fan mail sent to a voice actor not being delivered. We respect the privacy of all of our voice actors and do not knowingly open mail or packages not intended for Crunchyroll. All fan mail must be sent directly to the talent and their management.
Wald is known for his roles as Hannes in Attack on Titan, Askeladd in Vinland Saga, Welf Crozzo in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu in My Hero AcadeKaren, among many others. . He has served as ADR director for anime such as Bloom Into You, Tada Never Falls in Love, TV anime Given and movie Given.
