Once famous, streamers can earn huge sums of money from broadcasting platforms as well as through donations and brand contracts.
Jack Doherty – a famous streamer and YouTuber is such a person. The guy himself did not hesitate to show off his wealth by rewarding himself with a car that cost about $200,000 (nearly 5 billion VND). But just recently, Jack broke his own supercar and, more importantly, his “fishing rod” with an unforgettable broadcast session.
Accordingly, earlier this month, Jack – while sitting in his very expensive customized McLaren 570S – turned on his phone to broadcast a livestream session. But this also means that the streamer cannot focus on driving when he constantly has to look at his phone, text and check settings. Then the accident happened soon after. The lack of concentration combined with the slippery road surface caused Jack to lose control of the steering wheel, crash into the right handrail of the highway and even almost collide with other cars on the road.
Fortunately, the streamer was still safe after the accident.
It was inevitable that the expensive car would be destroyed after the incident, but Jack will have an even bigger headache when Kick – the platform where he is currently livestreaming – has announced that it will cut the contract and ban this male streamer for life. Having said that, now Jack's fans cannot find his livestream page anymore and only see the words 404 Error when accessing. There has been a lot of criticism directed at the male streamer after the accident, saying that driving while using a phone to broadcast is a reckless act. More importantly, right after the accident, Jack did not forget to ask passersby to take pictures for him to document for future videos.
It's unknown what this streamer's future will be, but this will definitely be a lifelong lesson for Jack. It's just a pity that he will no longer have a chance to regret when he has been banned from the platform for life.
