In a recent unfortunate turn of events, manga creator Azu, known for his work on the popular series “Magical Sempai,” has faced a series of online harassment that has resulted in the deletion of his account. Her Twitter and Pixiv Fanbox. The series is a light ecchi comedy revolving around magic tricks and humour, which has garnered a rabid fan base.
The trouble started when Azu, like many creators, maintained Pixiv Fanbox – a platform similar to Patreon – where backers could make financial contributions and receive exclusive perks, such as love. Request custom illustrations. However, some fans have gone beyond these boundaries by requesting unsafe for work (NSFW) artwork of the main character, Magical Sempai, in dangerous situations.
In posting these illustrations, Azu faced a wave of criticism and backlash on social media platforms. The matter escalated when a fan edited the Japanese-language Wikipedia page of the series, falsely claiming that Azu had allowed pornography involving the characters. This deceitful act made the author even more miserable.

In response, Azu posted a message on her Pixiv Fanbox, strongly rebutting those claims and asserting that all characters, including the protagonist, are intended to be portrayed as virgins. . She emphasizes the target audience of such content, aimed at adults who can understand the difference between fiction and reality.
Unfortunately, instead of resolving the situation, this message provoked a backlash. Many fans continue to criticize her on Twitter. In response to this relentless harassment, Azu deactivated her Twitter account and deleted her Pixiv Fanbox.
The case highlights the challenges creators can face when responding to fan requests, especially when those requests involve explicit or sensitive territory. While fans have the right to voice their opinions, harassment and personal attacks are never an acceptable response. Azu’s experience serves as a stark reminder of the complexity and pressure of being a content creator in the digital age.
