The light anime is streaming exclusively on Netflix in Japan
Japanese publisher Sekai Bunka-sha announced on Tuesday that Hirotaka Nakagawa, Tsubasa Suzuki and Hiroe Aoki's Nandyanen (an expression in the Kansai dialect meaning “What the hell?” or “What the heck? What are you doing?”) the manga will be adapted into a light anime. (Dai Nippon Printing coined the term “soft anime” in 2022 to describe the process of producing an adaptation in less time and at a lower cost than traditional animation.) Project introduction video revealed that the light anime will exclusively stream on Netflix in Japan starting on December 1.

Sekai Bunka-sha published the first Nandyanen picture book in 2013. Nakagawa is credited for the text, Suzuki is credited for the original concept, and Aoki drew the book's illustrations.
The picture book is full of silly and silly fun stories like waking up in the morning and finding your hair in a bun, or when you take off your pajamas and find yourself wearing a loincloth.
Sekai Bunka-sha published the second book in the series titled Ofuro de Nandyanen (What the hell are you doing in the bathtub?) in 2017, followed by Yūenchi de Nandyanen (What the hell are you doing at an amusement park?) in 2018, Mahō de Nandyanen (What the hell are you doing with Magic?) in 2019, and Umi de Nandyanen (What the hell are you doing at the beach?) in 2022. Suzuki and Aoki, without Nakagawa, are credited with writing the text and illustrations for the last four books in the series.
