Following the conclusion of the original series, the series inspired several OVAs, a recap series with varying continuities, a sequel to the recaps titled Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and a spin-off series Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. The franchise has also inspired numerous light novels, manga, and video games.
