Kotoyama’s popular supernatural romantic comedy manga, Call of the Night, or Yofukashi no Uta in Japan, is approaching its final chapter. Chapter 192 was released in Japan on November 15, 2023. With the author’s intention to end the series at chapter 200, there are only 8 chapters left. The manga has been running since 2019 and is scheduled to end in January 2024.
Call of the Night’s popularity increased following last year’s 13-episode anime adaptation by studio LIDEN FILMS. To celebrate the original manga’s epic conclusion, a series of collaboration events featuring Call of the Night will take place across Japan.
In Shibuya, there will be a temporary Call of the Night collaboration store held for a limited time from November 23 to December 12, 2023 at SOUVENIR THE SHIBUYA STORE. The store will display original merchandise featuring Kotoyama’s illustrations. Call of the Night LINE stickers will also be released on Japan’s most popular messaging app.
The much-anticipated 18th episode of Call of the Night will be released in Japan on November 17. Copies will come with a special ticket, giving fans the chance to win these Exclusive headphones decorated with artwork of the story’s heroine, Nazuna. The cover of volume 18 has a picture of Nazuna in her school uniform lying on a table.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as follows: One sleepless night, Ko sneaks out to walk the streets. Life after darkness is a revelation! When Nazuna flirtatiously invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s smitten! But then he woke up to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite… Was it just the delicious taste of his blood that made her meet him night after night for late night adventures, chatting and… nap? Or something else? Then, when a cute girl from Ko’s past appears and competes for his attention, his budding relationship with the undead is tested!
