The upcoming anime adaptation of the Bye Bye, Earth series received a trailer and images at the Crunchyroll Comic-Con panel in New York today. The anime will premiere in 2024. Studio LIDEN FILMS will produce the animation for the film, under the direction of Yasuto Nishikata. Sota Yokote is the assistant director. Hiroyuki Yoshino is writing the series, with Yuki Hino designing the characters. Kevin Penkin is composing music. Fairouz Who will voice Belle Lablac.
The anime Bye, Bye Earth is based on the 2000 novel of the same name written by Tow Ubukata and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. Originally published by Kadokawa, the novel received a new edition under Kadokawa Bunko, with illustrations by Hyung-Tae Kim in 2007. A manga adaptation by Ryu Asahi was serialized in Young magazine King OURs from 2020 to 2022.
