Let’s start with Ceres as she tells Naut about her true feelings as she begs the hunter not to go to the royal capital.
After all, Ceres didn’t want to have her heart broken when Naut disappeared while entering the capital with Mr. Pig and Jess.
And speaking of Mr. Pig, he has another suggestion to tell Naut to return to the village when they reach the royal capital.
Why? Because Mr. Pig wants Naut to become a chabirone for Ceres when she turns 16 years old. Once again, what is inside the capital and the fate of those who enter will remain a mystery.
Oh yes, this episode has more mystery as Jess tells the story of magicians in the dark ages where they fight to the death until one clan is left.
But even then, the surviving magicians were still in danger of being executed by the king and his ancestors. What’s worse is that their history would be forgotten because most of the records were lost in the fire, either by accident or because the king ordered everything erased.
Much like Yethmas, the wizards are destined to be slaughtered like livestock, which is quite a shame since Mr. Pig won’t really know what happened to them.
By the way, there is another flashback showing Eise when she was still alive. Oh yes, this is Naut when he was just a wayward kid, always putting himself in danger.
Anyway, I was really shocked that Eise resembled Jess despite having long hair, which is why Naut was somewhat infatuated with Jess because of their similar looks.
Oh and it should be noted that Naut didn’t rape Jess in the previous episode because he could have been executed for sexual assault. Of course, this is one of those strange rules in the world where the Yethma have restrictions like banning carriages, etc.
Now, they finally arrive at Munires, where Naut, Jess and Mr. Pig will stay at an inn for one night. But first, they need to have dinner at a local pub before going to bed.
By the way, the local pub has a Yethma necklace on display as a trophy. Well, not really a trophy but a symbol of protection because this tavern shelters the Yethmas because the necklace emits magic.
Oh yeah, about the necklaces? It turns out they lose their luster and magic when those necklaces are forcibly removed. But if it is cared for by someone with feelings for the slain Yethma, the necklace will retain its shape and magic. That’s why Eise’s necklace still retains divine protection when Naut has feelings for her.
One last thing, it is still a mystery how Yethmas came into being as they were trained and sold at the age of 8, their origin and how they came to this world is still a mystery. Unfortunately, there is no existence of male Yethmas as pointed out by Naut.
Anyway, it’s time to go to bed because they have a long day ahead, although it looks like Jess and Mr. Pig heard a faint voice somewhere.
It turns out that a Yethma named Blaise is asking them to save her as soon as possible. While Jess and Mr. Pig doesn’t want to leave Yethma alone from being slaughtered, I think it might be a trap.
With that said, I’ll see you next time as the long road towards the royal capital continues.
