Overview of Bucchigiri Volume 3
Bucchigiri?! is a new anime series and an original anime from MAPPA, the studio behind popular shows like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. The movie is scheduled to come out this January, so it’s almost here!
The series has been described as a return to the thug/Yanki anime genre, which was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s with shows like Cromartie High and Great Teacher Onizuka.
Directed by Hiroko Utsumi and story by Taku Kishimoto, the series also features music composition by Michiru Ōshima, while character designs are by Takahiro Kagami.
The opening theme, “Sesame” by Kroi, sets the tone and the ending theme will be Love je t’aime (らぶじゅてーむ)” by Mahiru Coda (甲田まひる).
I’ve tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I have to cover in order to give a proper response.

Review and summary of Bucchigiri episode 3: Arajin Is A Simp
The episode begins with the moment Arajin decides to join Siguma Squad and faces his friend Matakara. Matakara is definitely not happy that his childhood friend is joining his enemies, but there isn’t much he can do about it since our protagonist is blind in love and is a hard-boiled fool. count.
Luckily, in this episode, we finally get more information about the rivalry going on in the school. Obviously, in a school called Ichizu High, there are always two factions fighting each other to gain the top position. One is called Ikki Union, and another is Minato Kai.
Doman, the current leader of Minato Kai, mercilessly defeated the boss of Ikki Union and became the final winner. But suddenly, Marito appeared and changed the name of Ikki Union to Siguma Squad and became the leader there. Since then, he has helped the once failed group regain its former glory and develop into an undefeated force.
In the current scenario, we see Marito dragging his lover, a very reluctant Arajin, to his base. Arajin didn’t think twice about accepting the offer, and now that he was in a difficult situation, he didn’t know what to do or how to save his skin. However, his partner, Senya, is very appreciative of what is happening because he can now witness more fights.
This anime is getting more interesting as the series’ core theme of fighting is explored much better. We understand why one faction cannot stand the other and are even introduced to another enemy known as the Emperor. This person is definitely bad news because he used to be a member of Siguma Squad but was kicked out of the team and has now formed his own team in a separate school. This guy wants to play dirty so he will try his best to take advantage of the bad blood between Siguma Squad and Minato Kai.
We also see a lot of humor in this episode, especially the part where Siguma Squad plays the infamous Jan Ken Pon game, in their own violent way to celebrate Arajin joining their team. It will certainly be fun to watch Arajin struggle, as it is clear that he will have to work a lot to survive among these hoodlums.
Verdict
This episode was really fun and as usual, the fights were also beautifully choreographed. We have also seen some serious things happen here and in the next episode we will witness an all out brawl between the two most powerful characters. All in all, this is shaping up to be an interesting watch that you can definitely check out.
