The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 (Bokuyaba) reignited Winter 2024 by topping its 12th week, completing the first season sweep in our anime ratings history. This week was also the week with the highest vote percentage of the season, accounting for 14.02% in the week with the most participants (21,809). Behind that are two incredible finales, The Apothecary Diaries and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.

Before the historic achievement, the anime broke the previous record held by BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War (this anime first debuted for 9 consecutive weeks in Fall 2022, before Mob Psycho 100 surpassed through record). Studio Shin-Ei Animation is producing the animated sequel The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba). Hiroaki Akagi is directing and he also directed the first season which premiered in April 2023. Jukki Hanada is in charge of the script and series composition. Masato Katsumata is the character designer, with Kensuke Ushio providing the music.
The cast also returns for the sequel, including Hina Yomiya and Shun Horie as main duo Anna Yamada and Kyotaro Ichikawa. The second season will end with episode 13, which premieres tomorrow (March 30).
The anime series is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the title in English, while HIDIVE is streaming the anime. They describe the story:
Fascinated by the horror, Kyotaro fantasizes about acting on his twisted thoughts to the detriment of his classmates. His heart is dark until an encounter with Anna lights a spark in it in a classic boy meets girl story.
