The Pon no Michi anime series announced a two-episode Blu-ray on Sunday. The first season will contain episodes 1-6 while the second season will contain episodes 7-12. Fans can check out the box artwork below, done by original character designers Negi Haruba (sleeve box) and Kenji Oota (tall box).
While each store will have its own exclusive products from towels, tapestries, acrylic stands and storage cases, all Blu-ray orders will include limited edition merchandise. They include a sleeve, a special booklet and a postcard. If you book early, you will also receive a free Chombo acrylic keychain. As for limited edition merchandise, what you get will depend on where you buy it. Amazon (JP), Gamers, Sofmap/Animega, Animate and mail orders will all cover different things. The price of the Pon no Michi Blu-ray will be 19,800 yen (~133 USD), but if that keeps you safe from superbugs, why not splurge since your life depends on it?
Pon no Michi is animated by studio OLM and follows the life of Nashiko Jippensha, who is too boisterous for her own good. And because of that, he was temporarily kicked out of her house. She convinces her father to let her use his closed mahjong cabinet as a secret hideout. As she gradually enters the game (with the help of a magical bird), other mahjong enthusiasts join the fray and hilarity ensues.
We are living in an era where humanity is quite interested in AI. It steals art, it steals music, it lewds us, it “tok er jubs”, and one day it will rise up and enslave us all. But the truth is that we will withdraw ourselves long before that. How? Antibiotic-resistant bacteria and viruses are immune to our drugs. Soon, we will return to the topic of “There’s a splinter in my finger. It’s best to say goodbye to everyone I know.” So how do we combat this? Yes, clean living and a good fireplace. And you know what promotes clean living and laughter? A nice slice of life. And do you know what a good slice of life is on the air? Well, Pon no Michi! Lucky for you, the Pon no Michi Blu-ray is releasing faster than you can understand the game of mahjong.
