Yan’s escape plan is going perfectly and now he even has an ally to aid him in carrying out the plan. 9th Rank Apprentice Roman joined Yan because he wanted to escape the hellish training process and return to his family. The two enemies became allies because of their mutual hatred of the emperor. Can they escape successfully?
Bloodhound Regression Instinct Chapter 7 opens with Roman once again proving why he is the biggest jerk in the series. Roman threatens to tell the guide about Yan’s plan to dig a dog hole. Yan has done a lot of hard work and gone through so many hardships and humiliations to escape this hell, but Roman wants to end it all in a moment.
Summarize
The crazy thing here is that Roman doesn’t even know about Yan’s Motives and he just threatened him just because he wanted to be a bully for no reason. Sadly for Roman, he got the wrong person this time. Yan has had enough of everyone’s threats and Roman only makes his day worse. In his imagination, Yan quickly unleashed the 16th form of Dark Chaos and instantly slit Roman’s throat.
Yan’s sudden slash caused Roman to bleed until he died. Alas, Yan can only imagine killing Roman at this time because if he did in fact kill Roman, then he would attract unnecessary attention and suspicion towards him. Roman asked Yan to speak up because Yan had been lost in thought for a while.
Roman wondered if Yan was too scared to speak up since the punishment for trying to escape the training ground was execution. What Roman doesn’t know here is that Yan is actually fantasizing about killing him right now without any fear. Roman said that he understood that Yan was just scared so he would keep everything a secret if Yan only begged him for it.
Yan finally had enough of Roman’s nonsense so he spoke up. Yan tells Roman that he won’t do anything because Roman won’t tell anyone about this anyway. Roman was angry and asked Yan if he underestimated him. Yan said that the reason he knew Roman wouldn’t say anything was because he knew how much Roman hated special forces.
Yan recalls the incident where Roman almost died when he expressed his hatred towards the special forces. He added that Roman won’t say anything because his determination to go home is stronger than anything else. Yan looked Roman straight in the eyes and asked him if he longed for an escape like he did.
Roman sighed and then complimented Yan that he was extraordinary. Roman said that he knew full well that Yan could have killed him in their last match, and that it could have been the end for him, but Yan chose not to do it. Roman added that since that day, he always paid attention to Yan because he could sense a special smell from him.
Yan calls Roman a stalker, and he’s quite right because only stalkers track others by their scent. Yan then asked Roman how he discovered his escape plan and Roman explained that he was just watching Yan’s footsteps. Yan didn’t understand Roman’s answer so Roman clarified a bit.
Roman said that he noticed traces of lime powder in Yan’s footprints, which was suspicious because the entire training facility was made of granite. Roman was also able to detect that the footprint belonged to Yan because the size and shape matched Yan’s shoes. Yan was surprised after hearing such a detailed explanation from Roman because he had always considered him a fool.
Yan told Roman that he never thought Roman was that sharp because of his looks. Roman just stood still for a moment because he didn’t understand if Yan was praising or criticizing him. Roman then asks about Yan’s escape plan and the tunnel exit he created.
Roman also asked about the possibility of a successful escape, which made Yan wonder if he wanted to go with him. Roman said that he couldn’t answer Yan right now, so Yan told him to keep training because he would soon level up and get to a better place in about 10 years.
Yan then tells Roman that in 10 years, he will have lost everyone he is trying to protect so nothing matters anymore. Yan asked Roman again if he wanted to come along. Roman thought for a moment because if he agreed with Yan, his chances of dying would be much higher. After finding no other options, Roman finally agreed to go with Yan.
