Farnese from Berserk becomes Death Note’s Misa in an unexpected yet fitting crossover.
The nisino artist recently shared an image on Twitter depicting the character Berserk in Misa Amane’s costume. Additionally, Serpico, her bodyguard, is illustrated behind her and styled as a Shinigami.
Farnese meets Misa in this creative Fan Art
Farnese’s outfit in the artwork fully reflects Misa’s gothic style, with a black dress with lace detailing and numerous pieces of jewelry, including a studded necklace. One unique item is the pearl necklace around her neck, which has a creepy Behelit on the end. She also wears the specific hairstyle Farnese wears in the manga, with two short ponytails. However, unlike the original document, her ponytail is kept in place by small skull accessories. Serpico’s Shinigami form is also exactly the Death Note, as he takes the form of Rem, the god of death that accompanies Misa in the story after she obtained the Death Note.
The characters of Farnese and Serpico play a major supporting role in Berserk. Farnese is introduced in the series as the leader of the Holy Iron Chain Knights, who hunt down the Black Swordsman Guts, believing him to be a heretic villain. She soon comes into contact with the protagonist and faces a harrowing experience that changes her forever and leads her to join his party. On the other hand, Serpico was Farnese’s servant, with whom he had cooperated since childhood. Their master-servant relationship matches the dynamic between Misa and Rem, who also share a close bond but are based on slavery.
Berserk, written by the legendary Kentaro Miura, is a dark fantasy epic about a lone swordsman named Guts. He lived as a mercenary before encountering the charming but mysterious Griffith, who recruited him into the Band of the Hawk. As Guts and Griffith rise to the world, they too begin to witness its demise as extraordinary events change the foundation of their lives. Supernatural themes also appear in Death Note, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, about a young man named Light Yagami who discovers a book that kills the people whose names are in it. .
The Berserk series experiences tragedy in 2021 following the sudden departure of Kentaro Miura. However, while the author completed the series on a cliff, it continues under the pen of close friend Kouji Mori.
