Announcement about the anime Baki-Dou
The Baki anime is based on the manga Baki the Grappler written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. The series was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1991 to 1999 and was collected into 42 volumes. The series has multiple sequels, titled Baki, Baki Hanma and the aforementioned Baki-Dou, all of which are serialized in the same magazine. A fifth series, also titled Baki-Dou (but with a different romanization), began in October 2018. Baki-Dou was released from March 2014 to April 2018 and is collected into 22 episodes.
The current anime adaptation began in 2018 with Baki, runs 26 episodes and is animated by Double Eagle and TMS Entertainment. Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga followed in spring 2020. Baki Hanma (also known as Baki: Son of Ogre) is the third part of the reboot and Baki Hanma Part 2, which includes The Tale of Pickle & The Pickle War Saga and The Father VS Son Saga, which premiered last year.
Baki Hanma will have an anime tie-in with the Kengan Ashura series this June. The movie will be available on Netflix.
