During the “Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai Online 2023” livestream event, Kadokawa revealed exciting news for anime enthusiasts. The highly anticipated Date A Live V television anime series will premiere in 2024.
This reveal comes with the release of the second teaser video for the series and introduces the new cast.

Among the new talent joining the cast is Aya Endo, who will take on the role of Mio Takamiya, a seductive young woman shrouded in mystery. Mio’s character has an important connection to Shido’s mysterious past.
The Date A Live series has a rich history, with the first season hitting theaters in 2013, consisting of 12 episodes. Following that, the second season debuted in 2014 with 10 episodes.

Funimation promptly streamed both seasons in sync with their Japanese broadcasts. Additionally, the first season was released on Blu-ray and DVD with an English dub in June 2014, while the second season followed in March 2016. In 2015, fans were treated to anime film Gekijōban Date A Live: Mayuri Judgment.

The series continues to thrive with its third season premiering in January 2019, spanning 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation provided a simulcast for English-speaking viewers. Notably, the anime’s fourth season will hit theaters in April 2022, after a short delay from its initial release date of October 2021 due to “various reasons.”
The original light novel series, authored by Koushi Tachibana with illustrations by Tsunako, debuted in March 2011 and was published under Kadokawa’s Fantasia Bunko label.
The 22nd and final volume was released in March 2020. Yen Press released an English version of the novel to serve international readers.

The success of the light novels has spawned many manga adaptations and video games. Additionally, Yuichiro Higashide’s spinoff novel Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet made waves with its two-part theatrical anime adaptation in 2020.
