The preview for episode 17 of Apothecary’s Diary (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) has been released. The episode is titled “A Jaunt Around Town” and will air on Saturday, February 3.
Jinshi, the man who could destroy the country thanks to his excessive beauty, asked Maomao to apply makeup to transform him into someone else. He applies powder to make him look tanned, wraps a cloak around him to give him an awkward figure, and wears civilian clothes to transform himself into someone else. After completing her work, Maomao thinks about returning home for a long vacation, but is stopped by Gaoshun and Suiren and ends up disguising herself and walking around town with Jinshi.

The Apothecary Diaries anime is based on the light novel series written by Lucy Hyuga, illustrated by Toko Shino and published by Shunfunotomo. It has inspired two manga adaptations: a manga adaptation of the same name written by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Nekokurage and an alternate manga adaptation, The Apothecary Diaries: The Palace Cloister Mystery-Solving Notebook of Maomao (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Maomao no Kokyu Nazotoki Techo) is illustrated by Minoji Kurata. Manga adaptations have been published by Square Enix and Shogakukan and serialized in Monthly GanGan and Sunday Gene-X magazines.
TOHO Animation and OML are responsible for the animation of both The Apothecary Diaries anime series and its short anime series. The anime short series, Maomao’s Diaires, features the main character, Maomao, as she explains the main items shown in the week’s current episode. Maomao’s Diary is streaming on TOHO Animation’s Official YouTube Channel..
The anime series is currently streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll in select regions. Crunchyroll describes the plot as follows: Maomao lives a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she was sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she has no intention of living a life of royal compliance. So when the royal heirs fell ill, she decided to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official, who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
