Studio Pierrot is animating the YATAGARASU: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master anime, which premiered this April. Yoshiaki Kyogoku is directing the film, with Yukiko Yamamuro composing the series. Takumo Norita is designing the characters and Eishi Segawa is composing the music.
The anime is adapting Chisato Abe's Yatagarasu fantasy novel series. Kodansha is publishing the manga adaptation (by Tsumi Matsuzaki) in English, titled A Raven for All Seasons , on its K-MANGA app. K-MANGA describes the plot as follows:
In the land of Yamauchi, a world ruled by “Yatagarasu” instead of humans, it is time for the Crown Prince to choose his Queen. Four princesses brought into the palace by four great noble families are fiercely vying for power in the imperial court. They each have their own reasons for wanting to become the Empress, and many shocking events occur along the way. Who will be chosen by the Prince in the end?
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.
