Anime Sakamoto Days has revealed a new trailer and key visuals ahead of its January 2025 premiere date. The anime will air in two different courts; The first season premiered on January 11 while the second season started in July.

TMS Entertainment is producing the animation for the film adaptation, while Netflix will stream it weekly.
Masaki Watanabe will direct the anime, with Taku Kishimoto in charge of writing the series. Yo Moriyama is responsible for the character design and Yuto Suzuki is writing the script. Previously announced cast members include:

The anime will adapt the manga Sakamoto Days (stylized as SAKAMOTO DAYS) by Yuto Suzuki. serialized since 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. VIZ Media has licensed the Sakamoto Days manga in English, and the series is also available on Shueisha's Manga PLUS platform. The plot is described as follows:
Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary assassin considered the greatest of all time. Bad guys are afraid of him! Assassins revered him! But then one day he gave up, got married and had children. He now lives a quiet life as the owner of a neighborhood store, but how long can Sakamoto enjoy his retirement days before his past catches up with him?
