A provocative scene from an ecchi comedy anime apparently annoyed a member of its cast on live television.
As detailed on Anime Senpai, the production team of My Life As Inukai-San’s Dog recently held a live promotional broadcast with the main cast. Since the film relies heavily on sexual humor, one scene includes the introduction of the main character, Usagi Tsukishiro, stimulating herself on the table. Tsukishiro’s voice actor, Yurie Kozakai, appeared annoyed as the scene unfolded, occasionally laughing nervously or staring with a surprised expression.

The broadcast sparked a strong reaction on Japanese social media sites, with many speaking out in defense of the voice actors who had to see these scenes in front of a live audience. One person pointed out that certain VAs are “not proud” of working on shows like My Life As Inukai-San’s Dog, which they say are “just one step away from a real animated series the thing.” In their statement, they also drew attention to the fact that many voice actors use different stage names for regular anime than the stage names they use for hentai, presumably because they feel shame to take on such roles.
