Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia, Chapter #400My Hero Academy returns to All Might’s final battle, only to reveal that the former number one hero is not alone. Coming to his aid is none other than the Hero Assassin, Stain, at a critical moment.
Chapter #400 of My Hero Academia shows All Might crushing All for One with a massive blast of energy, desperately holding the villain in place and continuously firing. It even seemed to work well, as All for One was turned into a child by his powerful regeneration abilities, causing him to inch closer and closer to non-existence. However, All Might’s suit begins to malfunction due to damage and overuse, and the techniques he used to keep All for One in place are no longer an option. As All for One springs into action, he suddenly finds himself paralyzed when Stain appears, slashing the villain and activating his Quirk.
All Might and Stain Vs. All for one
Stain’s Quirk is exactly what All Might needs, and now that All for One can’t move, defeating him will be significantly easier. However, All for One has a lot of tricks up its sleeve, and Stain’s Quirk has a time limit that changes depending on blood type. All for One can overpower paralysis or use certain Quirk combinations to free himself. However, even in that event, it was now still a two-on-one fight, giving All for One something to worry about in addition to All Might’s attack. And to top it all off, Stain only got involved because of All for One’s plot in the first place, making it a case of being raised by his own pet.
All Might and Stain have a very interesting relationship; despite being a Hero Slayer, Stain justifiably believes that All Might is a hero and he would never want to see All Might fall into the hands of evil. Stain also had a very controversial relationship with the League of Villains, as they took advantage of him and eliminated him after he was captured. For Stain, this could be the dream experience he’s always been waiting for – fighting alongside All Might to defeat truly evil people. For his part, All Might at least knew that Stain completely understood his idea of becoming a Symbol of Peace, and even convinced All Might not to give up when he was at his worst.
While fighting side by side with the Hero Killer was certainly not high on All Might’s list of priorities, he truly couldn’t have asked for a more steadfast and fanatically loyal ally in this battle, and he needs all the help he can get. Many fans have been waiting for Stain’s appearance in the final war arc, as he is one of the few notable characters yet to appear. My Hero Academy saved his dramatic return for the perfect moment and the Hero Killer pulled through when no one else could.
