Game available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max; iPad, Mac with M1 chip
Hideo Kojima announced on his official Twitter account on Wednesday that Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding: Director’s Cut game will be available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPads and Mac computers with the chip M1 or higher. The game is scheduled to release this year.
The game Death Stranding was originally released for PlayStation 4 in November 2019. The game launched on PC via Steam in July 2020 after being delayed from June 2020 due to COVID-19. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, the PlayStation 5 version of the game, launched in September 2021. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut launched for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in March 2022. The game is inspiring for a film adaptation at Hammerstone Studios (Barbarian, Bill and Ted Face the Music).
Kojima Productions is developing the game Death Stranding 2 (working title). The game will star Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna and Troy Baker.
Kojima said he had completed the story for the sequel before the pandemic, but after going through the pandemic, he rewrote the entire story from the beginning. He added that he also rewrote it because he “didn’t want to predict any more of the future.” Koijma also said he is testing another “completely new” game as well as other visual projects.
Kojima announced during an Xbox & Bethesda Game Showcase livestream in June 2022 that he was working on a “special partnership” with Xbox Game Studios for a brand new game that “no one had yet seen.” ever experienced or seen before”. Kojima said he and Kojima Productions were finally able to create the game with “Microsoft’s advanced cloud technology and changing industry trends.”
Kojima Productions confirmed in October 2020 that it is developing a new project and is currently looking for candidates to fill various job positions at its Tokyo studio. Technology news website VentureBeat later reported in July 2021 that Kojima and Microsoft had reached an agreement to “study details” for a new Xbox game. Kojima revealed in January 2022 that he would “start a new job in earnest and move to the next level of experimentation with a radical project” that year.
Kojima Productions launched a new division in Los Angeles, California in 2021 dedicated to music, television and film.
