To-Heart was first released for PC in 1997. It has since been ported to several PlayStation platforms, starting with PlayStation in 1999. The remake's opening song, “Feeling Heart ,” was introduced with the PlayStation version, but is now sung by YURIKA instead of Masami Nakatsukasa.
MobyGames describes the premise as:
In this game, the player controls Fujita Hiroyuki, a high school student who seems more interested in romance than studying. In his school there are several beautiful girls and his goal is to treat one of them well, make the right decision when talking to her and finally win her heart.
To Heart is a visual novel: the player reads text and views CG images, sometimes prompted to choose a response or action from among several available responses. These decisions determine the outcome of the story. Each girl has her own “path” and ending, with different difficulty levels to achieve.
The PC version of the game contains explicit adult content. Subsequent console and handheld releases would remove adult scenes and add voice acting to the game.
The visual novel inspired the 1999 animated series of the same name and the 2004 To Heart 〜Remember my Memories〜 animated series.
