The top-rated My Hero Academia series by overseas fans will soon be available on Netflix internationally. Fans will be able to watch Heroes Rising near the end of this month, with the series releasing on Netflix starting September 26.
The news was reported by @WhatsOnNetflix on X (formerly Twitter), a fan account for the streaming service. While the first film in the series, Two Heroes, was available to stream via Crunchyroll and Max, Heroes Rising was previously only available for individual online purchase on Prime Video. Originally released in theaters in Japan in late 2019, many felt its availability was long overdue. However, with the recent conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga, now seems like the perfect time for fans to sit down and watch it again—especially since the film's exciting climax was one of the original ideas for the manga's ending.
My Hero's Highest Rated Movie on IMDb May Have a Competitor
As of writing, Heroes Rising is the best-received film MHA has produced according to IMDB ratings. With an overall score of 7.8/10 based on over 10,000 weighted user reviews, this puts it above both Two Heroes and World Mission. With a great final fight scene and a lot of attention given to some of the other students in Class 1-A, it's easy to see why the film is so highly regarded by fans. That said, the latest film in the series, You're Next, is actually on par with Heroes Rising in terms of ratings, despite having a much smaller user base so far. With You're Next scheduled to hit US theaters in October, these scores may change as more people get a chance to see it.
You're Next will hit theaters in North America starting October 11, 2024, giving moviegoers a chance to watch Heroes Rising on Netflix before then.
