Crunchyroll releases new English-subtitled episodes of The Elusive Samurai every Saturday for fans outside of Japan. What happened in episode 3 of The Elusive Samurai?
The elusive warriors are undergoing training.
In The Elusive Samurai #3, Yorishige sets up a training exercise for him and his retainers at the Suwa Grand Shrine, where the priest bolsters the young prince's confidence by seemingly stopping the rain. Furthermore, to add to the solemnity of the moment, Yorishige gathers the Suwa Sect to cheer for Tokiyuki, and although it is a highly rehearsed moment, it works to Tokiyuki's advantage. In The Elusive Samurai, Yorishige is said to be a god in human form, so his support of Tokiyuki is considered a big deal. for his supporters in episode #3.
After Tokiyuki's purifying victory in episode #2 over Muneshige Godaiin, Tokiyuki's uncle and the executioner of Tokiyuki's half-brother, Kunitoki, the training session does not end with just a word of encouragement. Episode #3 of The Elusive Samurai features a thrilling training scene in which Ayako Mochizuki, Kojiro Nezu, and Shizuku join Tokiyuki on a hunt, only to encounter the so-called buffalo demon, Botan. When weapons are not enough, they use their evasive skills to lure the giant boar into a deadly trap, marking their first successful training exercise.
While making a name for themselves, the Elusive Warriors, Tokiyuki's retainers, bond with the young prince, but their struggle is far from over as they work to reclaim the Kamakura Shogunate. The final moments reveal the events of The Elusive Samurai #4, with The bulging-eyed archer, Sadamune Ogasawara, is revealed to be Tokiyuki's next opponent.. However, running away may not be the only answer in the next episode, as Prince Hojo will soon realize.
The Elusive Samurai Episode 4 Introduces a Recurring Villain
Sadamune Ogasawara has a real all-seeing eye.
Elusive Samurai has introduced some strange and exaggerated characters based on real historical figures, but Sadamune Ogasawara will be the strangest new character in volume #4. His extremely bulging eyes were adorned to add to his beauty as a skilled archer.was able to determine the gender of multiple cicadas plucked from a wild boar by Takauji from several meters away in chapter #6 of the manga. All of which were inspired by Sadamune's real-life counterpart and his history as an archery instructor for Takauji and Emperor Go-Daigo.
Sadamune will appear at the Suwa Grand Shrine in The Elusive Samurai #4, suspecting him of hiding the Hojo fugitives. However, Yorishige solved this problem by proposing an archery challenge, in which they could shoot non-lethal arrows at living targets.including dogs and humans, while luring Tokiyuki into the challenge. Under the false name of Chojumaru, Tokiyuki will not be able to escape but will utilize his talents to give Sadamune a worthy match starting in The Elusive Samurai episode #4
