Hunter X Hunter fans can rejoice as the manga has received its first update in two years, with a new volume set to be released soon. This news brings hope for the future of the series and the release of future chapters.
According to X/Twitter user @WSJ_Manga, Shueisha's official website, S Manga has announced that Hunter X Hunter volume 38 will be released on September 4, 2024.
This volume will not include new chapters but will cover chapters #390 to #400, which were first released in 2022. However, the announcement of this upcoming volume may help predict when new chapters of Hunter X Hunter may be released.
Hunter X Hunter Volume #37 was released on November 4, 2022, after Yoshihiro Togashi showed signs of improvement by regularly updating the manga's progress on Twitter.
The manga returned to publication with chapter #391 on October 24, 2022, after it was announced in summer 2022 that the manga would return to Weekly Shonen Jump. Based on this pattern, it is likely that the Hunter X Hunter manga could begin serialization again in August 2024.
This possibility is further reinforced by Togashi's Twitter post, where he revealed that chapters #401 to #410 are nearing completion and are in the final stages.
Additionally, a new volume would benefit greatly from the release of new chapters, similar to what happened in 2022 when volume 37 sold over 500,000 copies in its first four days. The announcement of a new volume, along with Togashi's progress, suggests that new chapters are coming.
It's important to note that Hunter X Hunter won't be returning to a weekly release so Togashi can prioritize his health, but will likely opt for episodic releases. The series is currently in the exciting and strategic Succession War arc, and fans can look forward to a continuation of Kurapika's tough fight among the royal family.
