Jujutsu Kaisen has officially been honored by Guinness World Records as the most requested animated series of 2023 based on global viewership and engagement figures. The show barely beat the very famous opponents Attack on Titan and One Piece.
Mainstream interest in any anime has outpaced its cult appeal in recent years. This was recently confirmed when Jujutsu Kaisen, the anime based on the manga by Gege Akutami, took the top spot as the world's most in-demand TV show of 2023, beating out frontrunners like Loki, The Last of Us, Black Mirror and The Witcher. As the overall winner in the television category, Jujutsu Kaisen also naturally became the most requested anime series; however, it only holds up against close competitors Attack on Titan and One Piece. Parrot Analytics, the global entertainment analytics consulting company, has revealed the rankings through Guinness World Records following a comprehensive study.

Jujutsu Kaisen wins over One Piece and Attack on Titan for most popular anime
A number of figures have confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen is extremely popular among young audiences. Gen Z (ages 13-22) dominated the results with a viewership rating of 71.3%. Similar results were recorded for rivals One Piece (56.7%) and Attack on Titan (64.4%). The latter – which finished last last November – narrowly lost after three consecutive years of winning the standings. In contrast, demand for One Piece was boosted by the release of the live-action Netflix adaptation, which helped convince new and longtime fans to rewatch previous episodes of the anime series.
