Wind Breaker ending theme song artist Young Kee teased protagonist Haruka Sakura as possessing a “fragile and painful kind heart,” adding that the group he fought for, Bofurin, still continues to try to protect others despite being in tatters.
Toshifumi Akai will direct Wind Breaker, with a script by Hiroshi Seko and music by Ryo Takahashi. The series is adapted from the manga of the same name by Satoru Nii, published in 15 volumes on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket. Volume 16 will premiere in Japan on March 8. Kodansha USA licenses the series, describing it: Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with the weak—he only cares about the strongest of the strong person. He comes from Fuurin High School, a school for degenerate students about to drop out known only for their fighting prowess. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka has only one goal—to become the hero his town deserves.
Wind Breaker’s release date is April 5 in Japan and April 4 in most other regions.
