And despite being aggressive towards Kyosuke, Kyoko also has a special place in her heart for her father.

And while we don’t see the promise fulfilled in the anime, the webcomic does give us a glimpse of their future. In Chapter 140 of the webcomic, Hori-san to Miyamura-kun, it is revealed at the end that Hori and Miyamura are actually married and they have a son named Kyohei.
In that same chapter, we also see Sengoku’s daughter, most likely with Remi, named Shizuru. When Shizuru was crying after being bullied, Kyohei told her to cheer up, starting a friendship between the two.
