Joy Boy is a name often mentioned in One Piece, but this character's appearance is still mysterious. However, Oda revealed Joy Boy's silhouette in One Piece chapter 1115.
Here are 3 interesting things about that Joy Boy silhouette:
1. For the first time we get a glimpse of Joy Boy's appearance

Before that, we have heard the name Joy Boy many times in the One Piece story. But it was only in chapter 1115 that a picture of his appearance was revealed.
As Vegapunk reveals the truths regarding the Void Century, readers are shown the silhouette of Joy Boy, who appears to be facing the Alliance of the Twenty Kingdoms (the group that would later become the World Government).
2. Based on that silhouette, Joy Boy reached the Nika awakened Zoan devil fruit like Luffy
The interesting thing about Joy Boy's silhouette in One Piece chapter 1115 is that it actually looks very similar to Luffy in Gear 5 state. This shows that Joy Boy in the past has achieved the awakened devil fruit state.
Previously, in chapter 1114, Vegapunk also confirmed that Joy Boy's devil fruit is Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, similar to Luffy. In this chapter, Joy Boy is depicted fighting by lengthening or shortening his body parts like the story of the Sun God Nika.
800 years after Joy Boy passed away, another user of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika appeared, and also achieved the awakened state, that is Monkey D. Luffy.
3. Joy Boy fought the 20 kingdoms alliance (and apparently lost)
Joy Boy and Imu-sama.
As emphasized in point number 1, the enemies that Joy Boy fights against seem to come from the Alliance of 20 nations, which later becomes the World Government.
Based on later Vegapunk stories, the period known as the Void Century ended shortly after Joy Boy's defeat.
What does this mean?
In the past, Joy Boy had similar powers to Luffy, but in the end he still lost. Imu (and possibly the Five Elder Stars) were members of the Alliance that fought Joy Boy.
Therefore, even with Nika's extraordinary strength, Luffy is not guaranteed to win against Joy Boy's old enemy.
Of course, we currently don't know exactly how Joy Boy lost. Did he lose because he was defeated? Or was it due to being deceived or betrayed?
