Yen Press Licensing 10 New Manga & Novel Titles, Manhua Three Body Issue at Sakura-Con 2024

At its industry conference during Sakura-Con 2024, Yen Press announced the licensing and upcoming release of 10 new manga and light novel titles, as well as a manhua adaptation of the novel The Three-Body Issue highly appreciated by critics.

The 10 newly licensed titles include six manga series and four light novel titles. Among the highlights include the manga series Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise, the manga adaptation Detroit: Become Human—Tokyo Stories—and the light novel 86—EIGHTY-SIX Alter.

Ten titles will be released in September 2024, while the Three-Body Problem manhua will be released after that. More detailed information about the latter will be published on Yen Press's social media pages.

Yen Press announced that it will release a North American print edition of the manhua comic The Three-Body problem — an adaptation of the award-winning science fiction novel by Cixin Liu. It is the first installment in Liu's Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy, first released in China in 2008 and translated into English in 2014.

The novel The Three-Body Problem also won the Galaxy Award in China as well as the Hugo Award for its translated version. It was adapted into a Netflix original series that began streaming in March 2024 and a Bilibili original animated series in 2022.

The manhua manga will be the second of Cixin Liu's works published by Yen Press, with the first being a manga adaptation of his short story Caring for God, released in February 2024 .
