Despite being highly rated, it is undeniable that Black Myth: Wukong is still facing certain problems, especially for PC gamers.
The most prominent of which is the some Black Myth: Wukong gamers are unable to complete the game in certain ways, or encounter bugs that make monsters “immortal.” Fortunately, developer Game Science is aware of the problem and has just released a new update.
The first half of these updates are dedicated to fixing technical issues. In addition, this version also brings some updates to equipment and weapons. For example, the Spikeshaft now increases the maximum magic power to 30 and the healing effect of the Insect armor has been greatly improved. This update is also only about 1.7GB in size, but the most annoying thing is that the developer asks players to remove previous mods because they are afraid of incompatibility with the process.
More importantly, Black Myth: Wukong has just officially surpassed Palworld to become the best-selling game on Steam in 2024.
Specifically, according to statistics from Video Game Insights, the number of Black Myth: Wukong games sold has reached 20.1 million copies, surpassing the blockbuster Palworld earlier this year with 20 million copies sold (data only on Steam). It can be seen that after more than a month of launch, the appeal of Black Myth: Wukong seems to show no signs of cooling down. Even once officially released on the Xbox Series X/S platforms in the future, Black Myth: Wukong's sales will rise even higher.
Currently, Black Myth: Wukong is still the leading candidate for the Game of the Year title, but nothing is certain. However, there is still a lot for gamers to look forward to in this blockbuster, especially with the DLC expected to appear in 2025.
