Attack on Titan, one of the most beloved anime series of all time, gave us the most satisfying final episode, while also making us cry with its emotional weight. The series forces us to say goodbye to the characters we’ve seen grow up over all these years.
Every fan was prepared that they wouldn’t see these characters anymore because Isayama’s manga ended two years ago and with the final episode of the anime, the TV series also ended.
Well, the final episode’s post-credits scenes hinted at something else – here’s what we know.
What happens in Attack on Titan’s post-credits scene?
The concluding moments of the main storyline are Eren’s death at the hands of Mikasa. He was buried under the tree that started it all. We also see Mikasa regularly visiting the grave with her husband and children. She is later buried next to Eren after completing her years on Earth. Well, fortunately, she lived a long life with her family.
After a few years of the main character’s death, we see Paradis island growing until one day, it is destroyed in a bomb explosion. The post-credits scene also shows an Eldian child with a dog, walking towards the same tree that gave the first Titan, i.e. Ymir, the Founding Titan’s power. The child seemed ready to enter the tree. Additionally, nothing was revealed in the end-credits scene. So that kid walking into that tree makes fans wonder if Isayama is hinting at a sequel.
Does Attack on Titan have a sequel?
Unfortunately, at the present time, the answer to this question is no.
Attack on Titan was created by Hajime Isayama in 2009. Initially, the story seems like a regular dark fantasy story, but gradually, as it progresses, we learn that it is something that only one Only a genius can think of it.
However, in 2019, when the intelligent author was asked about his future plans for AOT, he revealed that whenever the series ends, he wants to stop writing comics and instead build a grand spa. The greatest that ever existed. Of course, the author’s plans may change in the future, but for now, let’s just say that there are no plans for Attack on Titan to return with a sequel.
