1. WHAT IS BTS?

BTS is a 7-member Korean idol boy group that debuted on June 13, 2013 and is managed by Big Hit Entertainment. BTS is the abbreviation of “Bangtan Sonyeondan(방탄소년단)” which in Korean means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”, in English it means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”. In 2017, they announced that BTS stands for “Beyond the Scene” in English.

Their “Love Myself” campaign was launched in partnership with UNICEF, focusing on youth violence prevention and global education.

3. WHAT IS ARMY?

4. How did BTS become famous?

Thanks to their fans – ARMY, BTS can call themselves world record holders. BTS has a Guinness World Record for the most total number of users interacting with BTS Tweets on Twitter, Most viewed Youtube Video in 24 hours and Most viewed Kpop music video on Youtube in 24 hours, thanks to the hit song of BTS with Halsey “Boy With Luv”. According to Billbourd, in 2017 and 2018, BTS were the most tweeted about celebrities.

Also in 2017, BTS beat Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez to win the Billboard Music Award for “Top Social Artist of the Year”, becoming the first Korean artist to win this award.

Both of BTS’s 2018 albums “Love Yourself: Answer” and “Love Yourself: Tear” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts. This is the first since the group One Direction achieved it in 2014.
