In issue #19 of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine, released on September 8, it was revealed that popular manga author Shūzō Oshimi is currently in the planning stages of his next manga project. Although the magazine provided this interesting information, no further details about the upcoming manga were revealed.
It is noteworthy that Oshimi recently ended his manga series titled “Welcome Back, Alice” (Okaeri Alice) on August 9. This intriguing series first debuted in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine of Kodansha in April 2020.

The seventh and final volume of the manga will be published by Kodansha on October 6. It is worth mentioning that Kodansha USA Publishing published the fifth volume of the series this past Tuesday.
Oshimi’s literary repertoire includes the highly acclaimed manga “The Flowers of Evil,” which found a British audience through Vertical. The manga inspired a 2013 anime television series as well as a live-action film released in September 2019.
Additionally, Oshimi’s “Inside Mari” manga was adapted into live-action in March 2017, while his “Drifting Net Café” manga was also the basis for a live-action series in 2009. Manga “ His Sweet Poolside” even inspired a live-action movie in 2014.
In February 2015, Oshimi introduced readers to “Happiness,” a manga series that appeared in the pages of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine until its conclusion in March 2019. The series is being distributed by Kodansha USA. released in English and this is another testament to Oshimi’s storytelling prowess. Vertical also contributed to Oshimi’s recognition by publishing his manga “Blood on the Tracks.”
Furthermore, manga enthusiasts can explore Oshimi’s work through Denpa, which released “Shino Can’t Say Her Name” (Shino-chan wa Jibun no Namae ga Ienai).

This manga delves into the complexities of communication, even inspiring a live-action movie that debuted in Japan in July 2018. Denpa also introduced English-chat to readers about manga “Miss Kusakabe” by Oshimi.
