Summary
Tarble, Vegeta’s forgotten older brother, appears in fan art alongside Vegeta with contrasting personalities. Skilled fan artist Kakeru has mastered Toriyama’s art style and has proven capable of creating original characters using that style. King Vegeta’s persecution of the weak accidentally saved Tarble’s life, illustrating the different paths of the two brothers in Dragon Ball.
Vegeta’s long-lost younger brother Tarble barely appears in any of the movies. Dragon ball series, but there’s an incredible piece of fan art that captures both characters together during a time period that fans rarely see. Despite having a lot of screen time, Vegeta does not mention his younger brother’s existence throughout Dragon Ball Z and Super. The reason became clear when he was introduced in a 2008 original video animation (OVA).
Tarble was born with a power level that classified him as a lower-level warrior and had a kinder heart than most pure-blooded Saiyans. This prompted his father, ruler of Goku and Vegeta’s power-hungry warrior race, King Vegeta, to send his youngest son to a distant planet. However, fanart by user X KAKERUexpertly captures the style of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama with a glimpse of the two young brothers before they were separated.
In fanart that could easily be confused with official Dragon Ball artwork, a young man appears Vegeta and Tarble stood side by side, wearing their signature Saiyan armor. Vegeta stood proud, confident and as tall as his short stature would allow while his less battle-loving younger brother cowered behind him. Kakeru’s fanart perfectly captures the contrasting personalities in one image.

The new Dragon Ball art isn’t the first time Kakeru’s talent has been noticed. The artwork shared on the X account (@DBSKAKERU1) demonstrates Toriyama’s level of skill in effectively capturing the dynamic and sharp manga art style. Some of the works contain beloved and epic Dragon Ball characters from their timeline, along with some original characters that look like they could be characters from the upcoming Dragon Ball Super installment. Still, image of Vegeta and Tarble before DBZ provides a glimpse into a time period in the series’ past that fans will likely never see more of.
Before Dragon Ball Super Tarble was introduced in a short OVA titled “Dragon Ball: The Return of Son Goku and Friends!” witnessed the scrawny member of the Saiyan royal family appear on Earth. After being told by a Namekian that Vegeta had defeated Frieza and was now residing on Earth, Tarble traveled there with his strange alien wife to seek assistance against a pair of cultists. Frieza’s strength. The two brothers seem to be compatible, but in reality they are not. a relationship that neither Toriyama nor Vegeta are key to exploring furthermore.
The Saiyans’ persecution was intended to save the weak Tarble’s life
Thanks to his training with Beerus throughout Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta has continued to level up both in strength and character development. Meanwhile, Tarble’s lack of motivation to fight ultimately saved his life from Frieza’s attack on Planet Vegeta. The image of Kakeru’s two brothers is even more influential when fans remember how much Vegeta has changed since his introduction. The gentle and shy Tarble may not get the attention of other Saiyans. Dragon ballbut creative fanart helps make the character more than just a vague memory.
