Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 10 Overview
Urusei Yatsura returns to breathe new life into the “boy meets extraordinary girl” genre. This anime masterpiece combines elements of comedy, romance and science fiction, enriched with countless funny jokes.
Once again, the series boasts a trio of talented directors at the helm. Among them is Takahashi Hideya, famous for his contributions to Sword Art Online, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, To LOVE-Ru, and more. Other directors include Kamei Takahiro, known for his work on Enen no Shouboutai, Captain Tsubasa (2018) and others, as well as Kimura Yasuhiro, who lent his expertise to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic mine.
Episode 10 of Urusei Yatsura Season 2 can also be called the 10th episode of うる星やつら第2期.
I’ve tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I have to cover in order to give a proper response.

Urusei Yatsura Episode 10 Review and Recap Part 2 – Mendo’s Octopus Problem
After watching some normal episodes of this anime over the past few weeks, it’s clear that this week we’ve got a random episode with some bizarre stories. And here we witness the plight of Mendo, who is haunted by a spirit. But it is not a human ghost, but the soul of an octopus in the Mendo family’s precious octopus collection. Now, for some reason, its soul is still attached to Mendo’s head, and until and unless its real body is found, the octopus will not go away. And Mendo will continue to have nightmares about the octopus.
But fortunately, Mendo is not alone in his suffering, as his friends are very worried about his condition. They were so worried that they sneaked into Mendo’s bedroom even when he refused to see them. The funny thing is that Ataru also comes to check on him, and as soon as he arrives, they start arguing. But it wasn’t just them, even Sakura sensei and her uncle came, all because Ten had gone around telling about Mendo’s condition to everyone he could find.
This episode is normally strangely funny. Urusei Yatsura is fashionable and you will laugh at the silliness of the characters. But I like the second story more because it’s good and interesting, and we get to see a side of Ataru that we don’t usually see.
In this segment, Ataru gains an admirer, which is definitely a first for him. This time, he was not the one pursuing a girl but rather there was a girl who fell in love with him at first sight. But there is a story behind her situation, and we end the episode on a good note with her love story.
Today’s episode once again introduces two different storylines that have very different vibes. The first part is random and contains a lot of humor. The second episode also has many humorous details but is also sad and romantic.
Identify
I enjoyed today’s episode, and as always, I have to mention that the feel of Urusei Yatsura may not be for everyone. Therefore, if you like this type of comedy where the story does not follow a fixed plot then I would definitely recommend watching this movie.
